It occurred to me that I should share this experience 🙂 It’s been a while since this happened, but it still feels mighty strong. In short, I was to fly with a morning flight from Tromsø to Oslo. I decided against placing an order for a taxi the night before, since I counted on it going OK. I was also irritated that buses didn’t go so early in the morning, since I’m a student and don’t have much money. 

Listened to the gut-feelings

I got up at 4:30 AM and called for a taxi. “Sorry, we’re fully booked. I can’t guarantee that you’ll get there in time. You MUST remember to order in advance if you need to catch a flight…I’ll send a taxi as soon as possible…but I doubt that you’ll make it on time. As I said, we’re fully booked.”  OK, I thought…don’t panic. It’s going to work out. So I sat down in my chair and took a deep breath, and then had a thought that I should just go outside… “It would be crazy to just go out on the street at 5 AM and hope that a taxi comes along” is what I thought. But I did it anyway. Listened to my gut feeling. I went out and there was a taxi right outside my door. Got into the taxi and wondered how it had arrived so quickly. “You’re going to the airport, right?” the taxi driver said. You bet! After we had driven for two minutes his phone rang. The taxi I had gotten into had actually been ordered in advance by another woman in my apartment building. I had taken her taxi! Of course, I said that we had to go back and pick her up. It would be so unfair if she was just left behind. So we went to fetch her, and she was as happy as sunshine and was ready for her vacation in Denmark. 

Magical daily life

The taxi driver apologized and didn’t want either of us to pay. We ended up paying the minimum starting rate because we wanted to pay something, which was equal to a bus ticket for each of us. We both caught our flights on time and had a nice chat in the taxi as well, and I didn’t have to pay for an expensive taxi. That’s what I call smooth flow and magical daily life! I have many more stories on hand, but I feel that this one tells it all since it is about a solution for the whole. I had never thought that such a solution could come along, while I stood there so early in the morning with disheveled hair.
